Saint-Félix-de-Valois is a Lanaudière municipality of around 6,000 in dairy and cash-crop country north of Joliette, with a village core and a wide surrounding area of farms and woodlots. Agriculture here means barns, machinery sheds, and fuel storage sitting well away from the house, on rangs that see essentially no traffic at night. Sûreté du Québec coverage spans a large rural territory. Monitored security extends past the house to the buildings that actually hold the value, and gets a trained operator on the line within moments of any sensor tripping.
