Ajax Home Alarm & Security Systems

Ajax sits within the Toronto CMA, where the 2024 Crime Severity Index is 59.4 — one of the lowest of any major Canadian metro — but with tens of thousands of Ajax homes emptied out every weekday by the commute into Toronto, a monitored home alarm system is what actually protects the house while you’re at work, not the area-wide statistic.

What does the 2024 crime data say about Ajax?

Area (2024)	Crime Severity Index	Change vs. 2023	Rate per 100,000
Ajax (Toronto CMA)	59.4	+1%	4,177
Ontario	60.7	—	4,458
Canada	77.9	−4%	5,672

Ajax’s metro-level numbers look reassuring, but the town’s own growth is the real security story: new subdivisions along the Kingston Road and Salem Road corridors, waterfront trail parks that draw foot traffic day and night, and a workforce that commutes into Toronto and Pickering — leaving houses empty for 9+ hours on a predictable schedule. Monitored security removes the guesswork: entry sensors and motion coverage watch the home whether you’re on the GO train or in the office, with fire, flood, and CO monitoring running around the clock regardless of the alarm’s armed state.

How does monitored home security work in Ajax?

Your home alarm system — entryway contacts, pet-sensitive motion detection, a digital keypad, high-decibel siren, and backup battery — connects to Canadian monitoring centres that never close. If the system detects a break-in, smoke, flood, or carbon monoxide, a real person responds within moments and alerts the appropriate Durham Region emergency service, whether you’re home or away. “Always On” technology keeps monitored smoke and CO detection active even when the alarm isn’t armed.

Does Statistics Canada report crime data specifically for Ajax?

Not separately — Ajax falls within the Toronto census metropolitan area, which posted a 2024 Crime Severity Index of 59.4, well below the national index of 77.9 (Statistics Canada, table 35-10-0026-01). A low area-wide average doesn’t guarantee any individual home is protected, which is why monitored security still matters house by house.

How fast is alarm response in Ajax?

With professional monitoring, a triggered alarm reaches a Canadian monitoring centre immediately, 24/7/365. A trained operator verifies the alarm and dispatches police, fire, or ambulance in the Ajax/Durham Region area right away.
